Vietnam hands over two American fugitives to U.S. police

MPS - The Criminal Investigation Agency under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam (MPS) handed over two American fugitives to the judicial police force of the United States (U.S.) on October 23 at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.

Earlier, the U.S. judicial police had informed Vietnamese police of the two dangerous criminals who had fled abroad. They are Wade Astle, 46, wanted for the accusation “child sexual abuse” and Hammmett Andrew, 31, wanted for the accusation “manufacturing, distributing, trading or possessing illicit drugs.”

With their professional measures, the Vietnamese functional forces found Astle hiding in Ho Chi Minh City and Andrew in the neighboring province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

The MPS’s Criminal Investigation Agency joined police units in Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau to arrest the two American fugitives and transported them to Hanoi to hand over them to the U.S. police.

The U.S. police flied special aircraft to Hanoi to extradite the two fugitives to ensure safety and prevent the possible spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The working group of the U.S. judicial police thanked the involved police units of the Vietnamese MPS for their cooperation in arresting the two criminals.
