Speaking at the reception, Minister To Lam highly appreciated the positive cooperation results between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the Cuban Ministry of Interior over the past years.
The Vietnamese Minister stressed, although the huge impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the implementation of cooperation programs and plans of the two ministries, the two sides have made special effort to overcome difficulties and successfully organized important online and in-person cooperation activities.
In order to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two ministries in the coming time, Minister To Lam suggested that the two sides should continue effectively implementing the cooperation agreements signed in November 2017, effectively support each other in priority areas of each side, as well as promote the exchange of delegations.
To further expand the cooperation between the two ministries in the field of health, the Vietnamese MPS wishes to receive more support from the Cuban Ministry of Interior in medical areas such as cancer treatment, cerebrovascular interventions, organ transplants and vaccines while boosting cooperation in research and production of Cuban pharmaceuticals.
For his part, Mr. Pedro Soca Pascual thanked Minister To Lam for his warm reception and affirmed that the Cuban Ministry of Interior always attaches great importance to maintaining and developing the traditional friendship and solidarity between the two countries, especially in protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety.
