Dong Nai province is now home to about 15,000 ex-prisoners, most of whom remain jobless so they are more likely to recommit crimes. Against this backdrop, leaders of the Dong Nai Provincial Police Department are encouraging businesses in the area to further support the Fund “Entrepreneurs with Security and Order”, supporting ex-prisoners with preferential loans to start their own business and re-integrating into the community.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son praised the efforts of the Dong Nai Police in setting up and operating the Fund effectively in the past years. The Fund has helped many ex-prisoners who had met various difficulties, to settle down their lives and quickly reintegrate into the community. Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son suggested that, together with the fight against crimes, the Fund is effectively supporting those who have once chosen the wrong path are aware of their mistakes and earn an honest penny after being released.
On this occasion, more than 100 entrepreneurs, enterprises and donors raised some VND 3.5 billion for the Fund.
