According to the letter, on June 19, the Thua Thien - Hue provincial police, in coordination with the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes, deployed their forces to raid an online fraudulent ring. The ring has reportedly deceived 400 people and appropriated VND 115.5 billion.
The police also arrested three people involved and seized two computers, an audio fine-tuning system, 10 bank cards and many other exhibits.
On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong praised the achievements of the police units.
He asked the Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Police Department to coordinate with other concerned police units and agencies to expand the investigation into the case as well as collect more evidence and soon prosecute the suspects in accordance with the laws.
They should also coordinate with press and media agencies to popularize the information about the case as well as tricks of online frauds in order to raise people's vigilance against hi-tech crimes.
