Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi works with Yen Bai police

MPS - A working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) led by Major General Le Tan Toi, Deputy Minister of Public Security, had a meeting with the Yen Bai provincial police on September 17.

The meeting also saw the presence of Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Vice Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee.

According to reports delivered by representatives of the Yen Bai provincial police at the meeting, over the past eight months of 2020, the provincial police have effectively implemented their working plans and taken drastic measures to protect national security and ensure social order and safety in the province.

Particularly, the provincial police launched many raids against crimes of all kinds, successfully investigated 201 out of the total 214 criminal cases in the locality and cleared up 97.7% of the serious cases. The police also received and effectively settled crime reports from people in accordance to the laws.

The Yen Bai Provincial Police Department had already posted professional policemen to all 162 communes and townships of the province by the first quarter of 2020. Meanwhile, local police units called on people to surrender illegally-stored weapons, explosives and combat gears to the local authorities, and mobilized them to participate in the fight against crimes and violations related to illegal use and storage of weapons.

Since the beginning of the year, the local police have also implemented a master project to simplify administrative procedures for citizens and the 2020 National Database on Population project.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi recognized and praised the achievements made by the Yen Bai provincial police over the past time.

Regarding their missions in the coming time, the Deputy Minister requested the provincial police to effectively implement resolutions and directives of the MPS on the police work in 2020 while taking measures to fulfill their assigned tasks in the remaining months of 2020.

* On the afternoon of the same day, Major General Le Tan Toi and the MPS’s delegation paid tribute to war martyrs at the Vi Xuyen National Martyrs’ Cemetery and the 468 Monument located in Thanh Thuy commune, Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang province.
