Deputy Prime Minister urges to complete national population database by the end of this year
MPS - Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Head of Steering Committee 896, has just announced a plan to implement a project on simplifying administrative procedures, citizen papers and databases related to population management in 2019.
The deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) to coordinate with ministries, sectors and police in localities to guide and inspect the progress of collecting and updating population data as well as to integrate local population data into the national population database system.
In the fourth quarter of 2019, the MPS will invest in the technical infrastructure of the national population database centre in Hanoi. The ministry in coordination with local police units will also install equipment, software and transmission lines connecting to the places under the project in the second half of the year.
Other Central agencies, ministries and localities that have needs to connect their professional database or/and other national databases to the national population database should send their proposals to the Ministries of Public Security, Justice, Information and Communications, Science and Technology, and the Governmental Office in the third and fourth quarters of 2019.
The Ministry of Justice, MPS, People's Committees of centrally run cities and provinces are asked to speed up the issuance of citizen identification numbers.
