Delegates of the meeting discussed the situation of crimes, causes and conditions of the crimes against children and juveniles, domestic violence and human trafficking as well as new tricks of offenders and solutions to these types of crime.
Speaking at the event, Major General Tran Ngoc Ha asked the Project Management Board and relevant units to promote legal education and information about prevention and fight against sexual attack and other kinds of violence against children as well as risks of accidents and drowning for children on the mass media. Besides, the board should also organize practical activities in response to the National Day against Human Trafficking (July 30) under the direction of the Prime Minister and the 138 Steering Board’s plans.
The Criminal Police Department was urged to coordinate with the provincial-level Management Boards of the Project to maintain and promote campaigns to prevent and fight crimes against children and juveniles. The Provincial Police Departments, particularly of border provincies, are asked to coordinate with relevant forces to prevent and fight human trafficking.
Major General Tran Ngoc Ha also highlighted the importance of promoting international cooperation on prevention and control of crimes, violence, child labor and human trafficking with countries and international organizations.
On this occasion, the MPS presented Certificates of Merit to 11 individuals and 5 teams with outstanding achievements in joint campaigns against human trafficking between the Vietnam’s Criminal Police Department and counterpart agencies of Cambodia and Laos.
