MPS - The Investigation Police Agency under the Ministry of Public Security has expanded investigation into the Nhat Cuong case and arrested three more persons involved.

The police started investigating the case in May 2019 after detecting serious wrongdoings at NC TECHNIC CO.,LTD  (Nhat Cuong company). The case drew much concern from public opinion as it is related to the company’s large-scale smuggling, money laundering and mistakes in accounting. Furthermore, the case is involved in a number of local officials. As a result, the case has been put under the supervision of the Central Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Corruption.

All suspects are charged with smuggling in accordance with Article 188 of the Criminal Code 2015, which was amended and supplemented in 2017.

After the Supreme People's Procuracy approved the documents for the above suspects, on the same day, the Investigation Police Department immediately arrested the three suspects and searched their living places.

Currently, the Investigation Police Department is conducting further investigation into the case and applying legal measures to recover property.
