Senior Lieutenant General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Thang, Director of the People's Security Academy co-chaired the workshop.
At the event, delegates from various units and schools under the Ministry of Public Security discussed scientific and practical issues related to the Ministry of Public Security’s project on strengthening grassroots-level police forces as well as orientations for building and completing regulations and a legal framework for the implementation of the project.
They also reviewed the working conditions for grassroots-level police forces, suggested opening more training courses to improve the qualifications and professional skills for grassroots-level police officers in the new situation.
The workshop also assessed outcomes of local police units in implementing the project and proposed orientations and solutions to continue effectively realizing the above-mentioned project.
Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh highly appreciated constructive ideas of the participants, and the good organization of the People’s Security Academy.
In order to train public security officers to meet the requirements of the project in the coming time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh requested public security educational institutions to develop suitable training programs in line with the practical situation and operation of local units as well as to revise their textbooks and teaching materials with a focus on both soft skills and professional skills.
