MPS strengthens prevention and fight against illegal trafficking and use of weapons, explosives and combat gears

MPS - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on March 25 held a conference to launch an intensive campaign against crimes and violations of the legal regulations on possession of weapons, explosives and combat gears. Major General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security chaired the conference.

Overview of the conference.

 

According to reports, illegal production, trading, transport, storage and use of weapons, explosives and combat gears have recently become complex. The functional forces have detected and handled a lot of major cases of illegal production, trading, transport of weapons, explosives and combat gears over the past time. 

The police units have also uncovered and addressed cases of using weapons, explosives and combat gears to commit serious crimes, causing public anxiety.

Additionally, the situation of illegal storage and use of homemade guns and other weapons in ethnic minorities remains complicated. Cases of ethnic people illegally trading weapons and explosives are on the rise, causing extremely serious consequences.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc asked the police units at all levels to urgently devise specific plans to detect and strictly handle violations of illegal production, trading, transport, storage and use of weapons, explosives, combat gears, toxic and banned substances.

He also urged the police units at all levels to promote law dissemination and mobilize people, organizations and agencies to surrender weapons, explosives and combat gears to the authorities.

The deputy minister requested the police force to closely coordinate with other forces inside and outside the ministry to strictly address cases of illegal trading, transport and storage of weapons, explosives and combat gears.
