Nam Dinh Provincial Police review 10-year drug prevention and combat

MPS - The Provincial Police of Nam Dinh held a meeting on July 19 to review 10-year prevention and fight against drug-related crimes from 2009 to 2019.

Senior Colonel Pham Van Long, Director of the Provincial Police of Nam Dinh, presents Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee to various officers and teams.


The event saw the presence of Mr. Tran Van Chung, Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council of Nam Dinh; Major General Tran Van Doanh, Vice Director of the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and other senior delegates.

Reports at the meeting showed that the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Department has gained various achievements in investigating drug-related crimes. The provincial police forces have caught 12,925 drug cases and 14,623 persons involved, and sized 91.9 kg of heroin, 108.8 kg of crystalline drugs, 52,000 pills of synthetic drugs and various exhibits.

Delegates check exhibits of several prominent cases.


The Provincial Police of Nam Dinh have also coordinated with relevant military and public security units to investigate 118 special cases and cracked down on various drug rings.

At the meeting, the Police Station of Hai Hau district was honored with the Governments’ Emulation Flag while various officers and teams were honored with Certificates of Merit presented by the Chairman of the Nam Dinh Provincial People’s Committee and the Provincial Police.

Speaking at the meeting, Major General Tran Van Doanh asked the Provincial Police to closely watch hotspots of drug crime and key drug trafficking routes and strengthen coordination with relevant units and forces to promote law dissemination in communities to improve the public awareness of prevention and fight against drug crimes.
