Thai Binh police solve human trafficking criminal case

MPS - The Police Investigation Authority of the Thai Binh Provincial Police Department on March 25 announced the arrest and prosecution of three people on charges of trafficking in persons.

Earlier, the Thai Binh police received a report about a young girl being trafficked to China. The Criminal Police Officer under the Thai Binh Provincial Police Department then established an investigation team to clarify the report.

The local criminal police force has successfully investigated and arrested three suspects, namely Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1990, residing in Tan Binh commune, Thai Binh city), Vu Van Dan (born in 1999, residing in Tan Quan village, Tan Binh commune) and Bui Van Chung (born in 1996, residing in Phu Xuan commune, Thai Binh city).

According to the investigators, the above subjects are all freelance laborers connected with Chinese criminals to smuggle Vietnamese women to China. In April 2017, Hung and his accomplices met some local women and promised them well-paid jobs in China or marriage with wealthy Chinese people. In fact, the victims were sold as sex workers or slave-wives for 20,000 - 50,000 yuan.

The case is currently under investigation and the criminal with be strictly handled in accordance with the laws.

On this occasion, the Thai Binh provincial police also warned local women of sophisticated tricks of human trafficking criminals.
