The Criminal Police Department reviews task performance in first half of 2019

MPS - The Criminal Police Department, on July 4, held a conference to review its task performance in the first 6 months of 2019 and results of its campaigns. General To Lam, Minister of Public Security (MPS) attended and gave a keynote speech at the Conference.

According to reports delivered at the meeting by the Criminal Police Department, the quality of criminal investigation in the first 6 months of 2019 has positively been improved. There were 21,071 criminal cases discovered while the rate of successful investigation reached 82.25% (2.75% higher compared to the same period of 2018). Some positive results were also recorded in investing criminal cases related to abuse of women and children and human trafficking.

Speaking at the Conference, Minister To Lam asked the criminal police force to take crime prevention as its top priority. The force should devise and implement practical preventive measures with concrete and focused targets in a drastic manner so as to make the number of criminal offences in 2019 fall 3% compared to 2018.

To meet this end, Minister To Lam suggested that the criminal police force should focus on resolutely fighting complex crimes, particularly organized crime, black credit and criminal gangs under the cover of businesses.
