The drive was held in response to the “Blood Donation for Dear Comrades 2019” campaign. The blood donation day saw the participation of some 400 donors, who are leaders and young officers from the Guard Police High Command's Youth Union chapter.
According to organizers, about 270 blood units were donated just in the morning, surpassing the set goal.
Such a donation drive provides an opportunity for the Guard Police to do the noble deed of blood donation to save lives of their comrades who are wounded while performing their duties, or who are ill and in need of blood.
For many years, the Guard Police has held many blood donation drives with the participation of over thousands of youths and collected thousands of blood units.
