Ho Chi Minh City Public Security Women's Union hosts meeting with female veterans of 1960 Dong Khoi Movement

MPS - On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Ben Tre’s General Uprising (Dong Khoi) Day (January 17, 1960 - January 17, 2020), a delegation of the Women's Union of the Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Police Department visited Ben Tre province and had meetings with female veterans of the "Long-haired Army" in the Dong Khoi Movement in 1960 in the province.

The delegation visited Ms. Nguyen Thi Khao in Giong Trom district, Ben Tre province, Ms. Le Thi Bach, Ms. Huynh Thi Cuc and Ms. Ngo Thi Xung in Mo Cay Nam district, Ben Tre province. During the meetings, the delegates listened to the senior revolutionaries’ stories about their political struggles during the Dong Khoi Movement. They also briefed the visiting female police officers on the results of Women’s Union work in their places.

On this occasion, the delegates presented a package of gifts worth VND 600,000, and VND 5 million in cash to each of the female veterans.

* The Ho Chi Minh Public Security Women's Union also visited and presented a package of gifts, worth VND 2 million, to a seriously ill policeman in Cam Son commune, Mo Cay Nam district as well as handed 8,200 tonic bottles to local children and police officers’ families.
