Nam Po district has 8 border communes with nearly 60,000 people of 8 ethnic groups. This is a key area in terms of national defense and security. However, the socio-economic situation and people's lives in the district are still extremely difficult. The whole district has 5,809 poor households, of whom many live in shanties.
In order to ease the difficulties of disadvantaged people in Nam Po district, the MPS cooperated with the Vietnam Electricity to launch a social program helping poor people in the locality. The program aims at repairing or building 615 houses with a total cost of up to nearly 30 billion VND for people in need.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bui Van Luyen, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Po district sincerely thanked the MPS, the Vietnam Electricity, and other donors for building or repairing houses for poor people in Nam Po district, Dien Bien province.
