The Vietnam People’s Public Security Organization (PPS) was founded by the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and beloved President Ho Chi Minh in the August Revolution (the General Uprising in August 1945). Since its inception, the PPS has always received direct leadership, continuous trainingandcare from the CPV and Uncle Ho, as well as great support from the people to become a key force in the cause of protecting national security and maintaining social safety and order.

The Prime Minister issued Decision No.04 on Jan 22, 2019 on the establishment, management and use of the Crime Prevention Fund. Accordingly, from March 10, 2019, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) is responsible for managing the Central Crime Prevention Fund in line with the laws.

Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Head of the ASEAN 2020 Security Sub-Committee, on February 24, led a delegation to work with the Quang Nam provincial Police Department on measures to ensure the security of the 36th ASEAN Summit.
