Heads of the delegations of the police and procuracy of Thua Thien Hue exchanged with representatives of the Salavan provincial police the information related to the security situation along the shared border section as well as results of cooperation in the fight against crimes, especially drug-related crimes.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue following the guidelines and viewpoints of leaders of the two parties, two states and the Ministries of Public Security on the bilateral relations and cooperation, and are committed to strengthening Vietnam - Laos friendship and cooperative relationship as well as to effectively implement the Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the two ministries and the police of the two provinces in jointly ensuring border security and fighting drug-related crimes.
Director of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Tuan, who is Head of the Vietnamese delegation, affirmed that the Thua Thien Hue provincial police will do their best to further the comprehensive cooperation with the Salavan provincial police, thus contributing to fostering the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos for the benefits of the two peoples.
On this occasion, the Thua Thien Hue delegation also visited the Police Departments of Sekong and Champasac provinces in Laos.
