The Education and Training Department reviews task performance, rolls out working plan

MPS - The Education and Training Department under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on January 6 held a conference to review its task performance in 2019 and roll out its working plan for 2020. Senior Lieutenant General, Nguyen Van Thanh, Assoc. Prof. Dr., Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and delivered a keynote speech.

In 2019, the department has proposed higher-level authorities to issue several circulars, regulations and guidelines to improve the effectiveness of the management over education and training in the People's Public Security Forces (PPSF).

Additionally, it organized events paying gratitude towards Soviet and Russian teachers with their contribution to the education and training of the PPSF over the past years on the occasion of Vietnam - Russia Cross Year and a ceremony celebrating 40 years of training students from the Cambodian Ministry of Home Affairs.

The department successfully organized the enrollment program for the public security schools and “Good Teacher” contests for lecturers of public security educational institutions in the academic year 2018 - 2019. Especially, the department guided public schools to conduct training courses for professional police officers to be deployed to communal police posts in the period of 2019-2020.

Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh praised the achievements obtained by the Education and TrainingDepartmentin 2019.

The Deputy Minister requested that the department should represent the Ministry of Public Security to manage and instruct all educational and training activities in the PPSF in accordance with the Party's guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, the MPS’s directions.

The department should also attach great importance to developing the public security teaching staff, promote the training of foreign language skills for public security officers and enhance the application of technologies to education and training in the PPSF. 

The Deputy Minister also noted that the department should draw up standards and criteria for visiting teachers, and consider forming a Public Security Council of Professors.
