
7th Vietnam – RoK Police Cooperation Conference takes place in Seoul
The 7th Vietnam –Republic of Korea (RoK) Police Cooperation Conference officially took place on November 21, in Seoul.

Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To and Acting Commissioner General of the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) Yoo Jae-seong co-chaired the conference.
Welcoming the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security’s (MPS) delegation to RoK, Acting Commissioner General Yoo Jae-seong underscored that the conference provided an important opportunity for both sides to review and assess the outcomes of the bilateral cooperation since the previous edition, as well as to discuss orientations for cooperation between the police forces of the two countries in the time ahead.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To highlighted and acclaimed the positive results of cooperation achieved by the two sides during the six previous conferences (2019–2024), saying that the two sides succeeded in maintaining exchanges of high-level delegations, strengthening operational coordination in combating crime and protecting citizens while strengthening cooperation in language training, cybercrime investigation training and forensic science.
The guest highlighted that, in 2025, the two sides coordinated closely in handling numerous cases involving high-tech crime, online gambling and illegal betting, verifying hundreds of fraudulent documents applied for visas to RoK, as well as effectively joined forcess in arresting international wanted fugitives.
At the conference, the two sides agreed to continue to enhance the sharing of information, especially on new, irregular and unprecedented types of crime, such as transnational organized crime and cybercrime.
They also affirmed their commitment to cooperating in tracking, arresting and transferring fugitives wanted by one country and hiding in the other, as well as ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of each country’s citizens residing legally in the other.
The RoK side confirmed, it would continue implementing support projects for the Vietnamese MPS, expand training programs for Vietnamese police officers and lecturers, increase student exchanges and provide professional, language and Taekwondo training for the Vietnamese Public Security Forces.
The two sides also agreed to conduct a comprehensive review of the 10-year operation of the Vietnam – RoK Information Liaison Team (2015–2025), accelerate the completion of the Action Program on the implementation of the bilateral cooperation agreement, and further promote cooperation through INTERPOL, ASEANAPOL and other multilateral frameworks.
In addition, the two sides consented to make thorough preparations for the upcoming 9th Vietnam – RoK INTERPOL Bilateral Conference to be held in the Republic of Korea in 2026.
Earlier the same morning, the Vietnamese delegation visited the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to exchange hands-on experience in ensuring security and order.
