Bringing early Tet to the poor in An Giang’s border areas

The An Giang Provincial Police Department, in coordination with the An Giang Youth Union and the People’s Committee of An Phu Commune, launched the 2026 Volunteer Spring campaign in the border commune of An Phu, An Giang province, on January 6, 2025.

The program featured a range of practical and meaningful activities aimed at supporting policy beneficiary families, poor and disadvantaged households, and schoolchildren, bringing them a joyful and warm Lunar New Year (Tet).

Addressing the launching ceremony, Deputy Director of the An Giang Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Le Phu Thanh stated that the 2026 Volunteer Spring Campaign is a meaningful and practical activity that realizes the guidelines of the Ministry of Public Security and the An Giang Provincial Police Department on promoting the emulation movement “Three Bests: Most Disciplined – Most Loyal – Closest to the People.”

He emphasized that the campaign contributes to promoting the vanguard role of the Public Security Forces in social activities and community services.

The 2026 Volunteer Spring Campaign comprises numerous social welfare activities and meaningful projects closely aligned with the political tasks of the Public Security Forces. The program aims to improve the material and spiritual lives of local residents, help people in border areas stabilize their livelihoods, strengthen their attachment to the national border region, and encourage them to follow the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws and local regulations as well as unite in building increasingly prosperous border areas.

At the launching ceremony, the An Giang Provincial Police Department mobilized benefactors to provide social welfare support to the People’s Committee of An Phu Commune.

The police also awarded 10 scholarships under the “Youth Union’s Foster Young Brother and Sister” model to disabled and disadvantaged students, presented 50 gifts to poor and near-poor households, and offered 10 gifts to members of the Grassroots Security and Order Support Force.

In addition, Youth Union chapters under the Youth Committee of the An Giang Provincial Police Department committed to supporting and caring for 10 disadvantaged students in An Phu Commune with a monthly allowance of VND 300,000 per student, helping them continue their education.

On this occasion, the An Giang Provincial Police Department also handed over a “19/8 House” to the family of Ms. Cao Thi Buong in An Thanh hamlet, An Phu Commune.
