The Vietnamese police team will support search and rescue operations following the devastating earthquake in Venezuela.
Speaking at the departure, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS leadership, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen highly commended the team members for their high sense of responsibility and immediate readiness to undertake the mission. He emphasized that the deployment carries profound significance, reflecting Vietnam's humanitarian spirit, responsibility, and solidarity with the Venezuelan people during this dark hour.
The Deputy Minister expressed firm confidence that, with their unwavering political resolve, professional expertise, practical experience and deep dedication, the contingent would successfully accomplish the critical mission entrusted to them by the Party, State and Ministry.
Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen instructed all team members to strictly follow the command of the team leader, fully comply with the regulations of the host country and international coordination bodies, and rigidly adhere to professional operational protocols throughout the mission.
He also urged the team to coordinate closely with local Venezuelan authorities and international rescue teams, uphold solidarity and professionalism, and make every possible effort to locate and extract victims still trapped under the rubble.
Beyond their tactical duties, the Ministry's leadership explicitly noted that the team should put safety above all else. They will have to continuously assess field risks at the disaster sites, preserve their health, and protect one another to ensure the successful completion of the mission under highly complex, hazardous conditions.
The Deputy Minister encouraged every officer and soldier to embody the People’s Public Security Forces’ core motto, "Ready to sacrifice for the Fatherland, dedicated to serving the people." By doing so, every rescue action will not only save lives, but also project the image of a compassionate, responsible Vietnam, further cementing the traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and Venezuela.
Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen wished the entire contingent a safe journey and an outstanding deployment before returning home as a source of pride for the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces.
