
Ha Noi police assist foreign tourist in recovering lost phone
At approximately 12:00 PM on July 14, 2026, the Cau Giay Ward Police Station (Ha Noi City) received a report from Mr. Abdullah Aliy, an Arab national, regarding an iPhone he had accidentally left in a taxi while traveling from Noi Bai International Airport to the Grand K Hotel.

Hindered by a language barrier and unable to recall details about the vehicle, Mr. Aliy was visibly anxious and struggled to explain the situation.
Recognizing that the phone contained critical personal data, the local police unit reassured the visitor, assisted him in gathering essential details, and immediately assigned officers to investigate.
Demonstrating a high sense of responsibility and dedication to public service, the police officers reviewed relevant data, traced the travel route and timeline, and coordinated with specialized units to locate the taxi.
Through swift verification efforts, by around 1:00 PM the same day — just one hour later — the police identified and contacted the taxi driver, recovering the missing device. After completing standard administrative procedures, the local police officers formally returned the phone to Mr. Abdullah Aliy.
Upon receiving his phone, Mr. Aliy was overjoyed and deeply moved, expressing his profound gratitude to the officers of the Cau Giay Ward Police Station. He wrote a heartfelt letter of thanks, appreciating the high sense of responsibility, dedication, and enthusiastic support displayed by the Vietnamese police.
Mr. Aliy shared that although the case was minor, it left a lasting impression of friendly, responsible Vietnamese police officers who are always ready to help.
