MPS disseminates newly adopted laws and ordinances regarding security and order

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting to disseminate the key contents of laws and ordinances regarding security and order that were passed at the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly and by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, on the morning of January 26 in Hanoi.

According to reports presented at the meeting, at its 10th session, the 15th National Assembly of Vietnam passed 10 laws that had been drafted or co-drafted by the Ministry of Public Security, including the Law on Extradition; the Law on Transfer of Sentenced Persons; the Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of 10 Laws Related to Security and Order; the Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on National Defense and Security Industry and Industrial Mobilization; the Law on Drug Prevention and Control; the Law on Execution of Criminal Judgments; the Law on Execution of Temporary Detention, Custody and Prohibition from Leaving Places of Residence; the Law on Protection of State Secrets; the Law on Cybersecurity; and the Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on Judicial Records.

In addition, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly passed the Ordinance Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Ordinance on the Environmental Police Force.

These laws and the ordinance are of great significance to the operations of the Public Security Forces and have a substantial impact on many aspects of social life.

At the meeting, delegates were briefed on the basic contents of the laws and ordinance related to security and order passed at the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly and by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, in support of the operation of the Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung acknowledged and commended the efforts of public security units and agencies nationwide in law-making work over the past period.

He requested that, immediately after the meeting, public security units and agencies, based on the results achieved, proactively developed plans and created favorable conditions for widespread dissemination and thorough study of the laws and ordinance for all officers and the ranks, while promptly, rigorously, uniformly and effectively preparing for the implementation of the documents as soon as they take effect.
