Welcoming Mr. Na Ki Hong and other Samsung Viet Nam executives to the Ministry, Minister Luong Tam Quang recognized and highly valued Samsung’s efforts, achievements and contributions through its investment, production and business activities in Viet Nam.
The Minister emphasized that Samsung had made significant contributions to exports, economic growth, state budget revenue and job creation. Its operations have also helped improve workforce quality, promote technology transfer and strengthen Viet Nam’s position in global supply chains.
Regarding cooperation with the Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang highly valued Samsung’s coordination in organizing a semiconductor technology capacity-building program for personnel from the Ministry’s units from June 30 to August 26, 2026, alongside joint research and development of software incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) and biometrics.
The Minister affirmed Viet Nam’s consistent policy of regarding the foreign-invested sector as an important component of the economy. The country encourages and provides favorable conditions for foreign enterprises, including Samsung, to invest, maintain stable and long-term production and business operations, and achieve sustainable development in Viet Nam.
Discussing specific cooperation priorities, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his hope that Samsung would expand training and professional development for Ministry personnel in digital transformation, AI, big data and other areas of Samsung’s expertise.
Priority should be given to training linked to research and the development of specific products for the specialized security industry, focusing on specialized biometric recognition software; AI systems for document digitization and automated processing; research and production of security chips for security devices; and expert consultancy on establishing laboratories for AI, biometrics and virtual metrology research.
Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed confidence that Samsung would continue to balance economic development and innovation with security, safety and social responsibility, making further contributions to Viet Nam’s socio-economic development and strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, General Director of Samsung Viet Nam Na Ki Hong thanked the Party, Government, local authorities and Ministry of Public Security for their attention and support for Samsung’s operations, affirming that this support provided an important foundation for the company to maintain stable business performance, pursue long-term investment and contribute to Viet Nam’s socio-economic development.
Providing an update on Samsung Viet Nam’s production and business performance, Mr. Na Ki Hong stated that strong global demand for Samsung’s new smartphone models had driven a substantial increase in production in Viet Nam. By the end of September 2026, both revenue and exports had maintained double-digit growth compared with the same period last year.
Regarding cooperation with the Ministry of Public Security, he said Samsung had worked with several under-ministerial units to implement the Minister’s proposals, focusing on semiconductor training, software development to optimize equipment performance, and the integration of Samsung mobile products into the Ministry’s equipment.
The General Director of Samsung Viet Nam expressed his hope for continued support and favorable conditions from the Ministry and Minister Luong Tam Quang for Samsung to further develop its production and business activities in compliance with Vietnamese law, thereby contributing more to the Viet Nam–Republic of Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
