National Data Center requested to master core technologies

On behalf of the Ministry of Public Security, Member of the CPV Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long hosted the delegation.

Briefing the delegation on the construction and deployment of the National Data Center, Director of the National Data Center, reported that National Data Center No. 1 Major General Nguyen Ngoc Cuong officially commenced operation on August 18, 2025. Built to exceptionally high standards with synchronized physical and information technology infrastructure, the facility ranks among the leading modern data centers in the region.

The Center meets stringent international standards, including Uptime Tier IV, TIA-942-C Rated 4 and LEED Gold, making it the first data center in Vietnam to achieve Rated 4 design certification. Its infrastructure is designed with high availability, multi-tiered redundancy, 24/7 continuous operation, and state-of-the-art technological applications. By 2030, the target is to form a national network of data infrastructure and computing capacity that is geographically distributed yet unified in architecture, standards, governance and operation.

In the coming period, the Center will focus on standardizing, cleaning, enriching, and building high-value datasets, particularly Vietnamese-language, multimodal, and sector-specific data. It aims to build a Vietnamese data resource that is "accurate, complete, clean, and live," unified, and shared. This will serve as the foundation for developing, training, and gradually mastering Vietnamese AI models, guided by the principle that data sovereignty forms the bedrock of AI sovereignty and autonomous AI.

Delivering directive remarks at the working session, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that units under the Ministry of Public Security have contributed significantly to perfecting the technological legal framework and promoting digital innovation in general, and database construction in particular.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that practical operations demonstrate that database development must be defined as a shared responsibility across all levels and sectors. He expressed his expectation that, following this visit, ministries and sectors will continue directing the completion of their respective databases, especially the land database.

Regarding the National Data Center, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung requested the unit to efficiently leverage databases and promptly perfect the institutional and legal frameworks to build a thriving innovation ecosystem.

Absorbing the directives from Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long affirmed that the National Data Center serves as shared infrastructure for the entire political system, citizens, and enterprises. In the coming time, the Ministry of Public Security wishes to continue receiving support from the Deputy Prime Minister, alongside close coordination from ministries, sectors, and local authorities in developing the National Data Center and ensuring cybersecurity, thereby contributing to the smooth operation of the digital political system, digital society, and digital economy.
