People’s Security Academy: 80 years of construction, development, and aspirations to rise in the new era

The Ministry of Public Security organized a scientific conference under the theme: “The People’s Security Academy – 80 Years of Construction, Development, and Aspirations to Rise in the New Era” in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the People’s Security Academy (June 25, 1946 – June 25, 2026) on the afternoon of June 12, in Hanoi.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung presided over the conference.

The conference was also attended by Member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the National Assembly’s National Defense and Security Committee Senior Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi, leaders of central agencies and ministries, localities and sectors as well as former leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, scientists and generations of staff, lecturers and students of the Academy.

In his keynote address, Lieutenant General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Ngoc Quyen, Director of the People’s Security Academy, emphasized that throughout its 80-year journey of construction and development, under the care of the Party and the State, the regular leadership and direction of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, along with the close coordination and support of central agencies, ministries, sectors local authorities, and the companionship of generations of staff, lecturers and students, the Academy has continuously matured, grown stronger, and elevated its stature through successive historical periods.

Before the conference, the Organizing Committee had received nearly 100 high-quality and deeply dedicated scientific papers from leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, central agencies, ministries, localities and sectors, the Representative Office of the Lao Ministry of Public Security in Vietnam, leaders of public security units and local agencies, as well as scientists from inside and outside the Academy.

Delegates discuss related issues.

During the conference, delegates focused their presentations and discussions on clarifying historical milestones and the significant, monumental contributions of the Academy to the cause of safeguarding national security over the past 80 years.

Many presentations also proposed highly feasible and breakthrough solutions to realize the Academy's aspirations to rise in the new era, aiming to transform it into a leading regional center for scientific research and training specialists in cybersecurity and high-tech crime combat.

Delivering the concluding remarks, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements that the Academy has attained over the past years.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung stressed that, as the nation enters a new era of development, the Academy must closely align with and effectively implement the Party's new thinking and solution regarding breakthroughs in education and training, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, applying their outcomes directly to the task of safeguarding security and order in the country's new revolutionary stage.

The Academy is requested become a center for generating knowledge and technology, a nucleus of innovation and entrepreneurship, closely linking training, research, and technology transfer with national development needs; it should attain regional and international standing, training high-quality human resources to contribute to the country's breakthroughs in science, technology, industrialization, and digital transformation.

The school needs to promptly seize opportunities and strictly follow the leadership and direction of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security to develop the People's Security Academy into a national key higher education institution, serving as the flagship leading the education and training system within the People's Public Security Forces.
