Prime Minister attends 9th “For National Security” Emulation Congress

Member of the Politburo, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Central Emulation and Commendation Council Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered keynote remarks.

The event also saw the presence of former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and former Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat and former Minister of Public Security General Le Hong Anh.

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the congress.

Notably, the event welcomed holders of the titles “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces,” “National-level Emulation Fighter” and 246 typical exemplary officers from the Public Security Forces and Grassroots-level Security Support Force, who are the representatives of thousands of officers and enlistees who work around the clock to protect the Party, the Fatherland and the peaceful life for the people.

The 9th “For National Security” Emulation Congress was a significant political event deeply reflecting the patriotic spirit, high sense of responsibility and dedication of the Public Security Forces in fulfilling their missions of protecting national security and ensuring public order and safety.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh lauded the achievements, feats and sacrifices made by the Public Security Forces over the past time, saying that they have contributed substantially to national security, social stability and socio-economic development.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the Public Security Forces’ outstanding accomplishments have played an essential role in maintaining political stability and a safe, civil and progressive society, as well as creating a peaceful, happy and prosperous life for the people and a favorable environment for national development.

Regarding key tasks in the coming time, the Prime Minister urged the Public Security Forces to uphold their glorious tradition, spirit of proactive innovation, join efforts to successfully fulfill key political tasks.

The Prime Minister also suggested building a firm people's security posture closely linked with a strong people’s heart posture, and ensuring absolute social safety, security, political stability and public order, so as to preserve a peaceful and stable environment for national development.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his sincere thanks to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for his attendance, saying that it was an honor of the congress when the Prime Minister on behalf of the Party and State leaders made guiding remarks, encouraged the Public Security Forces and present  prestigious awards to outstanding public security units and officers in the “For National Security” emulation movement and the “All People Protecting National Security” movement.

The Minister stated that Public Security Central Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and the entire Public Security Forces pledge to always be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party, the State and the people under any circumstance, to take the lead in implementing the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, and to excellently perform their duties of safeguarding national security and ensuring social order and safety.
