
Public security athletes win gold medal at 22nd International Mixed Martial Arts Championship
Vietnamese public security fighters excellently won one gold medal and one bronze medal at the 22nd International Mix Martial Arts (MMA) Championship, held in the Russian Federation from October 12 to 16, 2025.

MMA is a combat and applied martial art discipline, which has been taken from the quintessence of various martial arts, including boxing, kickboxing and sambo. The martial art is widespread trained in the armed forces of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member countries.
The sport delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam participated in the tournament at the invitation of the International Martial Arts Federation of Russia (IMAF).
After four days of competition, the Vietnamese team achieved excellent results, with Vu Thi Duong winning the gold medal in the 75kg category and Vu Thu Thao earning the bronze medal in the 70kg category.

* On the sidelines of the sport event, the Vietnamese delegation and IMAF signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation for the 2025–2028 period.
Under the agreement, the two sides will develop collaboration plans in the field of police sports, according to which IMAF will provide professional training programs for Vietnamese public security officers, coaches and athletes in Russia.
In addition, IMAF will send experienced martial arts coaches and experts to Vietnam to train public security officers and athletes in martial arts, with a view to enhancing professional capacity of Vietnamese public security athletes and coaches.
