Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc works with Belgian experts on digital transformation

MPS - Within the framework of the official visit to Belgium of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Vietnamese Government’s Project 06 delegation led by Standing Deputy of the Project 06 Steering Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, had a working session with the General Department in charge of Identity and Citizenship Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, on the morning of December 14, 2022 (local time).
 
Mr. Philippe Moreau and experts on digital transformation of the Kingdom of Belgium, welcomed Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc and other Vietnamese delegates.

The working session aimed to exchange and study your experience on how to build, collect data, identity, apply data on population, connect and share data with national databases as well serving the economic and social development of the country.
 
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc thanked the Kingdom of Belgium for the good sentiment of the Kingdom of Belgium for the Party, State and people of Vietnam in general and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in particular, as well as the esteemed welcome of General Director of the General Department of Identity and Citizenship Affairs Philippe Moreau for the Vietnamese Government’s Project 06 delegation.

 During three hours working together, the two sides discussed a range of issues regarding management, maintenance and operation of databases and methods of connecting and sharing data among different networks.
 
Belgian experts shared that Belgium has begun digitalizing information and data since 1983, and it has just deployed electronic authentication and authentication. First, electronic authentication and authentication was deployed by a local bank, and the Government then recognized the benefits and coordinated with the bank to develop it.

From 2004, Belgium started to implement data digitization, and it took 10 years to complete it. During the implementation process, Belgium used both manual and automatic methods to continuously updates, automatically update data.
 
Thanking Belgian experts for sharing good knowledge and experience in digital transformation, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc also wished that the Belgian side would strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Vietnamese side in implementing digital transformation in the country, contributing to developing a green economy, circular economy, digital economy in accordance with sustainable development policies of the two countries as well as with the current development trend in the EU and the world.
