Within the framework of multilateral cooperation, the two sides have actively maintained cooperation and supported each other in multilateral cooperation mechanisms, especially within the framework of the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Drugs (AMMD), the ASEAN Police Chiefs Meeting and other political and security cooperation mechanisms in the region.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung expressed his belief that the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in combating narcotics trade, psychotropic substances and precursors signed by the two sides will create an important premise and legal basis for the two sides to carry out more practical cooperation activities, thereby contributing to improving the effectiveness of coordination in preventing and suppressing illicit drug trafficking in the region in general and in the two countries in particular.

In addition, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding demonstrates the two countries' responsibility for the fight against narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors, contributing to maintaining social order and safety.
