As leaders of the Ministry of Public Security were reported that on November 28, 2022, the Lai Chau Provincial Police Department mobilized forces and means to investigate a special case to fight and arrest a suspect of illicit drug trafficking, capturing 40 cakes of heroin and other evidence.
This is a particularly outstanding victory, demonstrating the strong determination, high sense of responsibility and excellent professional expertise of units under the Lai Chau Provincial Police Department, especially the Counter-Narcotics Police Department and the Criminal Police Department under the Lai Chau Provincial Police Department in implementing the directions of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security on suppressing crime, ensuring security and order before, during and after the 2023 Lunar New Year.
The results of the special case have contributed to cutting off a supply network of drugs, deterring illicit drug traffickers in the key Northwest region and strengthening the people's confidence in the People's Police Force.
On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc praised the Lai Chau Provincial Police Department for the success and suggested that the Provincial Police continue investigating the case, quickly collect documents and evidence to prosecute the subject according to the law.
