Over the past time, the Hanoi Municipal Police Department in coordination with the Criminal Police Department, the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes and the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has investigated and eliminated a transnational criminal group using high technologies to cheat people out of their property.

Their trick is to call on people to invest in illegal foreign exchanges and stock exchanges.

By now, the police have arrested and prosecuted 18 suspects, temporarily seized 280 computers, 20 cars and frozen assets worth more than 2,000 billion VND.

The excellent achievement of the Hanoi Police Force has demonstrated their strong determination, high sense of responsibility and excellent professional expertise while implementing directions of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security on preventing and combating transnational organized crimes and high-tech crimes.

The success in clearing the case has also reflected the close and effective coordination among involved under-ministerial police departments and police departments of localities, contributing to deterring criminals, preventing crime, ensuring security and order and strengthening people’s trust in the Public Security Forces.
