Southern police support pandemic-hit people and frontline forces against COVID-19 pandemic

MPS - Amidst complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police of Southern localities took drastic measures to fight the disease on one hand, and they encouraged and offered gifts and necessities to needy people and the forces working on the front line of the fight against the pandemic, on the other hand.

* In Bac Lieu province:

The police in communes, wards and townships of Bac Lieu province visited and presented gifts to families facing difficulties due to the pandemic. They also encouraged the locals to improve their awareness of preventing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Bac Lieu police give many gifts to poor people and forces fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additionally, the local police mobilized donors to contribute thousands of mineral water bottles, masks, boxes of instant noodles to forces on the frontline of the fight against the pandemic.

Furthermore, the Youth Union and Women's Union chapters of the provincial police supported farmers inside and outside the province to distribute their produce. 

* In An Giang province:

Recently, the Party Committee and Directorate of the An Giang Provincial Police Department visited and presented gifts to people in concentrated quarantine zones in nine districts across Can Tho city.

The leaders of the An Giang police gave 1,000 packages of gifts, each containing 10kg of rice, 5kg of sugar, 5 boxes of condensed milk and other necessities. Earlier, the An Giang Provincial Police Directorate mobilized local organizations, businesses, and people to donate money to purchase gifts for needy people.

* In Ben Tre province:

Before Ben Tre launched social distancing measures, the Ben Tre Provincial Police Youth Union had offered more than 1,000 anti-droplet shields and medical masks to small businesses and people at the market in Ward 7, Ben Tre city. By now, the Youth Union of the provincial police has given away more than 10,000 anti-droplet shields.

The Ben Tre provincial police also mobilized police officers, soldiers, and benefactors to donate money for the COVID-19 vaccine fund, and to buy 500 packages of necessities, 2.5 tons of vegetables for kitchens in local quarantine zones. They also donated 2,000 boxes of medical masks, 800 bottles of antiseptic solution to pandemic control checkpoints, quarantine zones, and locked-down areas in the province.

* In Long An province:

To ease local people's difficulties during the time of social distancing, the police of Tan An city in Long An province have called on benefactors to give more than 100 packages of rice, noodles, sweet potatoes and other necessities, worth VND 50 million in total, to families in lockdown areas of the city. They also gave 10 boxes of noodles and dozens of bottled water to the No. 9 Field Hospital located at the Political School of Long An province.

Additionally, the police forces of communes and wards in Tan An city mobilized benefactors to give 3,200kg of rice, 1,300kg of sweet potatoes, 1,850kg of vegetables, 286 packs of necessities and 1,000 meals, with a total value of VND 150 million, to people in medical quarantine areas and civil guard forces in the localities.

The Tan An city police also coordinated with the city’s Labor Federation to encourage owners of rental housing to exempt or reduce the rental for workers and labors in the city. Thereby, 34 property owners agreed to exempt or reduce rentals for 1,186 workers.

In addition, the Women's Union and Youth Union chapters of the Tan An city police called on benefactors to donate money to buy a large number of fruits and free meals for on-duty officers at local medical checkpoints and quarantine facilities.

* In Soc Trang province:

The police of Ward 1 (Vinh Chau town, Soc Trang province) in coordination with other benefactors gave 112 bags of rice to the on-duty forces at anti-pandemic checkpoints and needy families in isolated areas to help them overcome difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
