He noted that, following the State visit to Vietnam by General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of China Xi Jinping, in April 2025, relations between the two Parties and the two countries have developed in a positive and substantive manner, achieving tangible results in politics, diplomacy, security, defense, trade, cultural exchange and people-to-people exchange.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam highly values the outcomes of cooperation with Chinese law enforcement agencies in safeguarding national security and maintaining social order in each country, particularly amid rapidly evolutions and developments in the region and the world, and increasingly complex traditional and non-traditional security challenges.
To further deepen cooperation in the new development stage, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To proposed that the two sides continue to strengthen collaboration and expand exchanges and visits at all levels, share experience in safeguarding national security and ensuring social order and safety, and further develop and effectively implement bilateral cooperation mechanisms.
He also suggested enhancing the efficiency of the hotline between the Ministers of Public Security of the two countries and continuing close coordination and mutual support for each other at multilateral forums, such as the United Nations and the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).
The host called on the Public Security Forces of te two countries to strengthen coordination in preventing and combating transnational crimes, including online fraud, gambling and online gambling, drug-related crimes, human trafficking, illegal entry and exit, as well as in tracking and arresting wanted fugitives.
He proposed that both sides effectively launch joint campaigns in 2026 targeting human trafficking, drug crimes, online fraud and illegal immigration.
In addition, he stressed the need to closely coordinate to ensure absolute security and safety for high-level visits and major political events in both countries, as well as to safeguard agencies and enterprises of one country operating in the other.
He also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in building capacity of law enforcement officers of the two countries, particularly training them in science and technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and prevention and combat of cybercrime.
Affirming the great significance of fostering Vietnam–China relations in a stable and sustainable manner while strengthening security cooperation as an important pillar in the bilateral relations, Ambassador He Wei stated that he would continue to promote his role as a bridge between the two sides and expand cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Chinese Ministry of Public Security, the Chinese Ministry of State Security and relevant Chinese agencies, thereby contributing to further deepening the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries in a practical and effective manner.
