Hue City police return lost property to Japanese student

On September 2, 2025, the Economic Security Division of the Hue City Police Department announced that it had returned a mobile phone to Ms. Mii Uchino, born in 1999, a Japanese national and student of Tsukuba University who is currently attending a seminar at Hue University.

Earlier, at around 11:00 a.m. on September 1, while being on duty along Vo Nguyen Giap Street near Aeon Mall in An Cuu ward, an officer of the Economic Security Division found an iPhone 14 Pro on the street.

Immediately, the Division identified the phone’s owner as Ms. Mii Uchino, temporarily residing at 5 Luong The Vinh Street, Thuan Hoa ward, and then worked on the necessary procedures for the phone return to its rightful owner.

Upon receiving her phone back, Ms. Uchino said she had been so worried after she had lost it since the phone contained lots of her important personal files and her personal information.

She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Hue City Police, particularly officers from the Economic Security Division, for their timely and effective support as well as their high sense of responsibility.
