"Keeping the Oath" – an epic tribute to those who had dedicated lives to the Fatherland

The Ministry of Public Security, the An Giang Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam Television jointly organized the political-artistic program "Keeping the Oath" at the Temple dedicated to Heroic Martyrs and National Contributors on the evening of July 25, 2026.

Being held to mark the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2026), the program honored and paid tribute to generations of officers and personnel of the People's Public Security Forces.

Prominent attendees included: former Politburo member and former Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat General Le Hong Anh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen, and Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Quang Tung.

Set against the nationwide commemoration of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, the program served as an epic tribute, revisiting glorious chapters of national history. It deeply portrayed the immense sacrifices and contributions of heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, and all those who had rendered meritorious service to the revolution in the cause of national independence, reunification, and the firm defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Through a blend of political discourse and artistic expression, “Keeping the Oath” not only conveyed a message of gratitude to those who had given their youth and lives for national freedom, but also rekindled national pride, nurtured revolutionary ideals, and educated officers, soldiers and people, especially the younger generation, on patriotism and the tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source.”

The program affirmed the shared responsibility of the entire Party, the People, the armed forces, and the People's Public Security Forces to preserve and promote this glorious revolutionary legacy. It underscored their commitment to upholding their solemn oath to serve the Fatherland and the People, remain worthy of the sacrifices of the previous generations, and resolutely build and safeguard the nation in its new era of development.

During the event, the Organizing Committee presented gifts to disadvantaged families of wounded officers and fallen heroes, as well as relatives of martyrs who provided DNA samples for identity verification.
