MPS, MoD review coordination in the first half of 2026

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc and Member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence General Nguyen Tan Cuong co-chaired the conference.

In the first half of 2026, under the direction of the Party and State, specifically the Public Security Central Party Committee, the Central Military Commission, and the leadership of the two ministries, and with the active involvement of local authorities and the public, the People’s Public Security Forces and Vietnam People’s Army rigorously and effectively executed Decree No. 03.

The two forces provided effective strategic advice to the Party and State on national defense and security matters. They ensured absolute safety for key installations, strategic infrastructure, major political events, and high-level foreign affairs activities. Furthermore, they resolutely thwarted all subversion plots and activities by hostile and reactionary forces, promptly resolved complex defense and security situations, firmly safeguarded national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and maintained political stability, social order, and safety.

Speaking at the conference, General Nguyen Tan Cuong commended the two forces for the results achieved through MPS–MoD coordination. He urged the two forces to build on their accomplishments from the first half of 2026, with a strong focus on enhancing information collection, joint assessment, and intelligence sharing. He emphasized the need to deliver timely advice to the Party, State and local governments on strategies to firmly protect national sovereignty, sovereign rights, and national interests.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc called on the two forces to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the directives issued by the leadership of both ministries. He underscored that the two forces must step up timely information exchange, maintain seamless coordination, and act in unity for the interests of the Party, the Fatherland and the People, as well as the peace and happiness of the public.

Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc also instructed relevant units to proactively coordinate in handling emerging situations, particularly in crime prevention and combat, and to resolve obstacles directly at the grassroots level to continuously elevate inter-service operational effectiveness.
