MPS presents documentary footage of President Ho Chi Minh in Hungary to central agencies

Member of the CPV Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security CPV Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung chaired the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung emphasized that collecting documents, artifacts and images depicting the life and great revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh not only demonstrates gratitude for and honors His immense contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and nation, but also represents a practical activity to implement the Party’s policy of promoting the studying and following of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style.

Over the years, while thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing the Party’s guidelines, the Executive Committee of the Public Security CPV Organisation and the Ministry of Public Security have directed the entire People’s Public Security Forces to actively search for and collect documents, artifacts and images relating to President Ho Chi Minh, particularly materials preserved overseas.

The documentary footage presented on this occasion records part of President Ho Chi Minh’s official visit to Hungary from August 1 to 5, 1957. The visit formed part of a series of historic visits by President Ho Chi Minh and a high-level delegation of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam to nine socialist countries in Eastern Europe and Asia following the Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 1954 Geneva Accords.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung stated that the footage vividly reflects President Ho Chi Minh’s stature as a genius leader and an outstanding diplomat, while portraying His modest, approachable manner and sincere affection for the Hungarian people. The footage is not only of immense historical value but also offers valuable lessons in the art of diplomacy, particularly in closely combining national strength with the strength of the times and mobilizing support and assistance from international friends for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese nation.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung expressed his hope that the Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, Viet Nam Television, the Voice of Viet Nam, the Viet Nam News Agency and the Ho Chi Minh Museum would effectively utilize the documentary footage and widely popularize it to Vietnamese people at home and abroad, as well as international friends. Such efforts will contribute to introducing and honoring President Ho Chi Minh’s wisdom, virtues, character and noble ideals, while educating younger generations about the nation’s patriotic tradition and their responsibility to serve the Fatherland and the People.
