MPS, Mastercard seeking to promote strategic cooperation

During the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang spoke highly of Mastercard's pioneering role and global reputation in driving digital transformation and payment innovations across the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide. He emphasized that, while the rapid expansion of digital platforms, electronic payments, and emerging technologies opens unprecedented economic opportunities, it simultaneously heightens the imperative to safeguard network security, protect consumer rights, and guarantee financial safety.

Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that Viet Nam considers science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation as primary strategic priorities. He reassured the delegation that the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) remains committed to facilitating a safe, stable environment for international corporations to expand long-term investment and build durable partnerships with Vietnamese entities.

On that basis, Minister Luong Tam Quang proposed that Mastercard serve as a vital bridge connecting US enterprises with Viet Nam's public and private sectors. He wished Mastercard would become a key strategic partner of Viet Nam and the MPS in advancing digital transformation, bolstering cybersecurity, and combating cybercrime.

For his part, Vice Chairman Jon Meade Huntsman Jr. expressed his sincere gratitude to Minister Luong Tam Quang for his warm welcome and reception. He commended Viet Nam's remarkable achievements and growth potential in developing a digital economy, fostering innovation, and building a safe, reliable digital ecosystem.

The Mastercard leader expressed a strong desire to expand operational cooperation with the MPS and other relevant Vietnamese ministries and agencies, particularly in accelerating digital transformation and strengthening cybersecurity measures.

At the conclusion of the session, the two sides agreed to maintain regular dialogue and close coordination, contributing to the broader consolidation of Viet Nam–US bilateral relations and promoting regional and global stability, cooperation, and development.
