MPS strengthens cooperation with Chinese counterparts

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, member of a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam visiting China, had a meeting with Member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Chen Wenqing on April 14 in Beijing.

At the meeting, Chinese Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission Chen Wenqing congratulated Vietnam on its successful organization of the 14th National Party Congress and the first session of the 16th National Assembly. The host then highlighted the positive results of the legislative, judicial and law enforcement cooperation between the two countries in recent years.

He expressed his hope that the two sides will continue strengthening cooperation in safeguarding political security and combating transnational crime, contributing to maintaining social order and safety in each country in line with the orientations for bilateral relations agreed upon by the two Parties and States’ senior leaders.

For his part, Minister Luong Tam Quang thanked the Chinese side for the reception, emphasizing that China was the first country visited by To Lam in his capacity as General Secretary and President, reflecting strong political trust and the high level of bilateral relations in the new development stage.

In the context of complex global and regional developments, the two sides agreed to further consolidate political trust, enhance cooperation in combating various types of crime, particularly transnational crime, and promote the negotiation and signing of new cooperation agreements in accordance with international law and the laws of the two countries.

On the same day, Minister Luong Tam Quang also met with Secretary of the Secretariat and Minister of Public Security of China Wang Xiaohong.

The two ministers expressed their delight at meeting again following the successful organization of the first Ministerial-level 3+3 Dialogue on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Public Security, as well as the 9th Ministerial Meeting on Crime Prevention and Control, affirming that these events had marked significant milestones in bilateral relations.

They agreed to continue strengthening cooperation in ensuring political security and combating transnational crime, promoting cultural and sports exchanges on the occasion of major events, coordinating in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of citizens of the two countries and enhancing cooperation through multilateral frameworks.

Also on this occasion, Minister Luong Tam Quang met with Minister of State Security of China Chen Yixin to discuss measures to further strengthen the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
