
Public security fighter wins gold at National Taekwondo Championship 2025
The National Taekwondo Club Championship – Korean Ambassador’s Cup 2025 took place at Thai Nguyen Provincial Gymnasium from September 9 to 15, attracting more than 55 teams with around 1,400 coaches, athletes and officials — an increase of about 30% compared to last year.

The tournament featured four age groups for both male and female athletes: under 12 (16 individual sparring and 10 poomsae events), 12–14 (22 sparring and 10 poomsae), 15–17 (23 sparring and 10 poomsae) and over 17 (21 sparring and 10 poomsae).
Outstanding athletes from the championship will be selected for the national youth team in 2026 and some may be enlisted to the national team.
The public security team included one head delegate, two coaches and 13 young fighters.

An athlete from the Public Security Delegation, fighter Nguyen Kim Ngan, clinched a gold medal in the women’s 53kg individual sparring event of the over-17 age group.
Other public security athletes also bagged one silver and two bronze medals, which helped the team finish 22nd overall.
The Ho Chi Minh City team topped the medal tally with 33 golds, 11 silvers and 18 bronzes, followed by Hanoi with 10 golds, 7 silvers and 10 bronzes.
