* Major General Truong Van Thong receives Ms. Wendy Matthews, Ambassador of New Zealand to Vietnam:
Major General Truong Van Thong expressed his delight at fine developments in the multi-facetted relations between New Zealand and Vietnam in the past time and appreciated the contribution of Ambassador Wendy Matthews to the bilateral relations. He affirmed that the cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the New Zealand Police has been enhanced with fruitful outcomes.
Regarding future cooperation, the Major General suggested the two sides promote exchange of delegations, support each other in training and building capacity for police officers in concerned areas; and enhance regular information exchange contributing to preventing and controlling transnational and organized crimes in each country.
* On the afternoon, Major General Truong Van Thong received Ms. Lianys Torres Rivera, Ambassador of Cuba to Vietnam.
Speaking at the reception, Major General Truong Van Thong emphasized, based on the good traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba reflected in many areas such as diplomacy, security, education and science, the ties between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Cuban Ministry of Home Affairs have continuously developed over the past time. The Major General hoped that in the coming time, the two ministries could expand the cooperation in medical support, personnel training, and prevention and fight against crimes, especially organized crimes, transnational crimes and hi-tech crimes.
Thanking the Major General for his warm reception, Ambassador Lianys Torres Rivera pledged to do her utmost to contribute more to strengthening the traditional relations between the two countries and two ministries.
