RoK’s Gyeonggi province grant three fire trucks to Nghe An fire police

MPS - A delegation of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council led by Mr. Kim Dal Soo, Head of the Committee of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gyeonggi (Republic of Korea - RoK) on October 24 paid a working visit to the Nghe An Provincial Police Department.

On behalf of the leadership of the Nghe An Provincial Police Department, Senior Colonel Nguyen Duc Hai, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department briefed the delegation on geographical features, cultural identity and security situation of Nghe An province, as well as noted the difficulties faced by the local police. He stressed that the local fire police force has a number of difficulties in fire prevention and fighting as it lacks fire engines and equipment.

Furthermore, Nghe An province has the harsh climate with numerous heat spells and prolonged droughts. In this circumstance, causing large number of fire incidents occurred in recent years, leaving huge human and material losses. Since 2013, the province has 393 fires and 5 explosions, killing 13 people, injuring 38 others and causing property damages worth about VND82 billion.

At the meeting, the leader of the Nghe An Provincial Police Department hoped that the RoK locality would expand the cooperation with Nghe An in the coming time, and grant firefighting and rescue equipment, fire engines for high-rise buildings and waterway fire vehicles to the local fire police.

On behalf of the Gyeonggi authority, Mr. Kim Dal Soo affirmed that the RoK locality would continue promoting cooperation with the Nghe An fire police force in building capacity of local fighters and instructing them how to operate RoK-manufactured fire machinery and equipment.
