The delegation, including high-ranking officials of the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the 12th AMMTC at the invitation of the host, Lieutenant General Kyaw Swe, Minister of Interior of Myanmar.

At the Plenary Session of the AMMTC 12, ASEAN member states discussed and evaluated results of the cooperation in the field of cross-border crime prevention among member countries as well as in the region. At the event, representatives of the member states have adopted the ASEAN Plan of Action to Prevent and Counter the Rise of Radicalization and Violent Extremism (2018-2025).
In his important remark, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong emphasized that Vietnam will always actively and responsibly participate in ASEAN's cooperation mechanisms in the field of cross-border crime prevention and control.
At the same time, in order to deal with emerging challenges in the region, the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Public Security suggested ASEAN countries prioritize cooperation in the fight against smuggling of stolen antiques.
Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong, on behalf of the Vietnamese delegation, announced an initiative to hold an ASEAN seminar on strengthening international cooperation in wanted fugitive pursuit.
* Shortly after the conclusion of the AMMTC 12 Plenary Meeting, the AMMTC consultation meetings with the bloc's dialogue partners were also held in Myanmar. In its capacity as the coordinator of the ASEAN - Japan relations, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong alongside Mr. Mitsuhiro Matsumoto, Deputy Chief of National Police of Japan chaired the 4th AMMTC Plus Japan (4th AMMTC + Japan) Consultation.
* On November 1, Myanmar President Win Myint met with heads of the delegations attending the AMMTC 12 and related conferences. At the meeting, President Win Myin emphasized the importance of ensuring order and security for prosperity and stability of each country as well as in the region and the world.

In the face of the complex situation of transnational crime in Southeast Asia, President Win Myin suggested that ASEAN member countries should continue to strengthen their coordination and support Myanmar to effectively carry out common cooperation activities in order to contribute more to the development of Myanmar in particular and of the region in general.
* On the occasion, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong also had a meeting with China's Deputy Minister of Public Security Du Hang Wei. At the meeting, the two officials expressed delight at the positive results achieved in the bilateral cooperation in the fight against crime between the two countries.
The two sides also pledged to make more efforts to implement the deals agreed by the two ministers at the 6th Vietnam - China Conference on Cooperation in Crime Control held in China in October 2018.
Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong and his counterpart Du Hang Wei also affirmed their commitment to create favorable conditions for the law enforcement agencies of the two sides to strengthen cooperation in the fight against transnational crimes, focusing on dealing with the requirements of each specific case.
