The Fire Police of Hanoi in July 2018 coordinated with functional agencies to check fire prevention and fighting capabilities in some 1,100 facilities and skyscrapers, and detected 426 projects violating fire prevention and fighting regulations.
During this general inspection, the Fire Police and functional forces are determined to seriously penalize all violations. According to results of previous inspections up to July 2018, 287 high-rise buildings in the city violating regulations on fire prevention and fighting, and the list was made public.
Additionally, the Fire Police of Hanoi are completing documents to strictly handle 24 high-rise apartment buildings with their violations of regulations on fire prevention and fighting, in accordance with the laws.
The Fire Police of Hanoi also reported that the city’s situation of fire and explosion remained complicated with large blazes causing significant human and material losses, as well as anxieties and worries to the people. Particularly, in the first 6 months of 2018, the city saw 411 fire incidents (including 2 large-scale fires, 7 serious fires, 06 major fires causing serious damages and 55 average fires) killing 4 people and injuring 9 others and causing a total loss of VND 263 billion and burning down 1.8 hectares of forest.
