Minister To Lam works with Tra Vinh police

MPS - General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, on April 12 visited and worked with the Tra Vinh Provincial Police Department.

Minister Lam and his entourage were received by Mr. Tran Tri Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council and other leaders of the province.

According to reports delivered at the meeting, the number of criminal offenses decreased more than 6% while the rate of the successfully investigated cases reached over 90% with 100% of the serious cases resolved.

Meanwhile, the local police well exercised their function of state management of security and order, fire prevention and fighting, benefiting the public order and security situation in the province. They also promoted the movement “All people protecting national security” and fostered many good and creative models of the movement, contributing to building a firm people security disposition. The Tra Vinh Provincial Police Department has also deployed fulltime police officers to communal police posts in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Public Security while focusing on building a clean and strong local police force.

Addressing the meeting, Minister To Lam appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Provincial Police Department over the past time and urged them to step up prevention and fight against crimes with a focus on stamping out “black credit”, drug-related crimes and gambling seen as roots of other crimes. He asked the Provincial Police of Tra Vinh to pay more attention to serious cases and enhance efficiency in handling crime denunciations.

Minister To Lam also asked the provincial police to make more efforts to ensure security and order on the occasion of the Chol Chnam Thmay festival of the Khmer people.
