The Ho Chi Minh Municipal Police Department requested the Mobile Police High Command to deploy its forces to the city to maintain the local public order and security situation during the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet). Accordingly, mobile police officers and soldiers were reinforced to 7 police units of districts adjacent to Binh Duong, Long An and Tay Ninh provinces, and well coordinated with local police in ensuring public order and security on 7 key routes and in 5 hotspots in the districts. The Directorate of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Police Department highly appreciated the coordination of the mobile police squads with local police, contributing to easing the complication of local security and reducing the number of traffic accidents in the localities.
Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Pham Quoc Cuong, Commander of the Mobile Police High Command emphasized that the mobile police force made great resolve in ensuring public security and traffic order and safety in Ho Chi Minh City, reflecting the force’s high sense of responsibility as well as its important role and position in maintaining public order and security. The recent achievements of a large reinforced detachment of mobile police responsible for preventing and fighting crimes in Ho Chi Minh City during Tet promoted the trust of local authorities and people in the whole force.
At the conference, the Mobile Police High Command presented certificates of merit of the Ministry of Public Security to 5 teams and 35 individuals with outstanding achievements in coordinating with the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Police in ensuring public order and security in the city in the past time, and certificates of appreciation of the High Command to 5 teams and 50 individuals. The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City’s leadership awarded certificates of merit to 4 teams and 15 individuals while the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Police Department awarded its certificates of merit to 30 individuals with outstanding achievements.
