Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung meets voters in Ho Chi Minh City

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung attended a voter meeting following the 1st session of the 16th National Assembly, on the morning of May 8 at the headquarters of the People’s Committee of Go Vap Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting, representatives of Group No. 9 of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation briefed voters on the outcomes of the 1st session of the 16th National Assembly and the activities of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation during the session.

During the meeting, voters  raised numerous questions and expressed their concerns about people’s livelihoods, particularly household businesses’ difficulties and shortcomings in declaring and paying taxes in the digital environment, as well as made recommendations to simplify administrative procedures and technologies used for tax declaration and payment.

Voters also proposed solutions to address school overcrowding, improve education quality, better support teachers, and build a safe learning environment.

Many showed their concerns over unsafe food and the abuse of chemicals in food production and processing, which causes risks to public health. They suggested reducing school violence and legally defining the age of children to use social media.

In addition, voters recommended competent agencies to strengthen management and enhance coordination to effectively prevent cyber fraud and other forms of cybercrime.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung emphasized that the Ministry of Public Security has consistently taken the lead in proposing recommendations and providing advice to the National Assembly on solutions to address the above-mentioned issues, as well as made special efforts to detect, investigate and handle criminal cases involving counterfeit medicines, fake and low-quality food products and environmental pollution, thereby minimizing negativelyaffecting people’s health and lives.

The Deputy Minister also called on voters and the public as a whole to raise their awareness of crime prevention and denunciation, promptly reporting violations related to food safety, security and order to competent authorities, particularly the Public Security Forces, through various channels and forms.
