Deputy Minister Pham The Tung praises Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department for dismantling major fraud group

Over the past time, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department took synchronous professional measures to uncovered a large-scale group operating under the guise of a medical business to defraud people of their money.

By now, the police have arrested 12 suspects and seized 2 tons of machinery used for drug production, 30 computers, 45 mobile phones, 3 tons of raw materials and other exhibits.

Initial investigation results revealed that the suspects had established companies, recruited labors, drawn up a detailed operational plan, and assigned some people to advertise their fake medication, illegally conducted medical consultations and sold unlicensed traditional medical products, fraudulently appropriating more than 227 billion VND from tens of thousands of victims nationwide.

The outstanding achievement reflected their high determination, strong sense of responsibility and sharp professional expertise of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Force, particularly the Internal Political Security Division, the Staff Division and the Security Investigation Division, while implementing Resolution No. 72 of the Politburo on enhancing public health protection as well as the directives of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security on drastically suppressing crimes, especially organized crime, to ensure security and order during the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 2026 Lunar New Year.

The case clearance has also contributed to protecting public health and property, deterring crime, and strengthening public trust in the Public Security Forces.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung acknowledged and commended the involved units and officers on their accomplishment.

The Deputy Minister requested the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department and relevant units to promptly expand the investigation, complete related documents and evidence as well as legal procedures to prosecute all involved persons, in accordance with the law.

He also urged the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department to raise the public awareness and vigilance against this type of crime, and advise people to dispose of the medicinal products distributed by the fake medicine production group on the market.
